Long
Grove F.C.
Parent
Responsibilities
- Provide
or make arrangements for transportation to and from all practices, games
and tournaments to ensure that your player is prompt not only in arriving
but also leaving.
- Ensure
that your player comes to all soccer activities with the proper equipment
and prepared to participate.
- Understand
that your player must meet all academic expectations required of her and
that her participation in any practices, games or travel activities will
not be acceptable as an excuse for not meeting those responsibilities.
- Attend
as many games as possible. Be a
cheerleader providing only encouragement and positive support to all
players on the team.
- Become
a student of the game. Learn as
much as you can about the game from coaches, players and other knowledgeable
sources.
- Do
not coach or give direction to any player from the sidelines during a
game. Doing so may be counter to
what the coaches have instructed the team and be confusing to the players.
- Be
supportive of your player while encouraging her to take responsibility for
her game and not to make excuses if things do not go her way.
- Respect
the decisions of the referee without complaining. Do not criticize or direct negative
comments towards the officials or players on either team.
- Communicate
regularly with the coaches. Do not
hesitate to ask questions and never be afraid to offer suggestions. If you have a concern, talk to the
coaches, but do so at the proper time and in the proper place. On the field, right after a game, may
not be the best place.
- Honor
all financial obligations and pay such in a timely manner. Fees are to cover a pre-set budget and
player participation. Failure to
do so puts an unfair burden on the team and could result in player
suspension if not resolved.
Players leaving the team prematurely are not entitled to a discount
or refund.
- Treat
all players, opponents, officials and coaches with courtesy and
respect. Conduct yourself to the
highest standards.
I have read and understand all of
the parent responsibilities outlined above and agree to honor these
responsibilities to the best of my ability.
