Long
Grove F.C.
Player
Responsibilities
- Soccer
is a game, a team sport and should be fun. Give your best effort at every practice and game and have
fun doing it.
- Be
at practice on time with the proper equipment and prepared to use that
time to improve your skills, endurance and knowledge as well as to train
with your teammates to help them become the best possible team that you
can.
- Understand
that practice is the single most important part of becoming a better
player and team. Make every effort
to be at all scheduled practices because attendance at practice is just as
important as attendance at any game.
- It
is your responsibility to notify the coaching staff in advance by phone
and e-mail, along with the reason for your absence, if you will miss or be
late to a practice or a game. If you
fail to notify a coach in advance, you may not play in the first half of
our next game. Three failures to
do so will result in a one game suspension.
- Only
the coaching staff can decide if a missed practice or game will be
considered excused. “Excused”
missed practices or games will have no penalty associated with them. Understand that if you have an
“unexcused” missed practice or game you may not start the next game.
- Be
at all games 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start. Be in uniform, have
a ball, a drink and your alternate jersey with you.
- Decisions
on positions and playing time are determined by the coaching staff. Respect those decisions and do not
question them during a game.
- Play
within the rules of the game of soccer at all times and accept the
decisions of the referee without gestures or argument.
- Win
without boasting and if we lose do so gracefully and without excuses. Always shake hands with the opposing
players after a game and never respond to provocations from opposing
players, coaches or parents.
- Treat
your teammates, opponents, officials, spectators and coaches with respect,
courtesy and good sportsmanship at all times.
- Be
prepared to step outside your comfort zone in order to grow as a player
and a person. Be ready to accept
the challenges of new positions, new teammates, new team tactics and new
training methods.
I have read and understand all of the player responsibilities outlined
above and agree to honor these responsibilities to the best of my ability.
